Island Acupuncture opened its doors in 2001. We have provided the Outer Banks with a complementary approach to healthcare for the past 10 years and look forward to doing so for many years to come. We are committed to providing quality healthcare to our community. Island Acupuncture is the only health care practice in the Outer Banks that specializes in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). TCM is a family of traditional medical techniques, some of which are thousands of years old. We believe that the future of optimal health care lies in the integration of more traditional complementary approaches with modern western medical approaches.

All services are provided by North Carolina State Licensed (NCALB) and National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine certified acupuncturists (NCCAOM). We have two licensed acupuncturists that hold Masters of Science Degrees in Traditional Chinese Medicine from accredited acupuncture colleges in the United States, with training in acupuncture, herbal prescriptions and Western medical assessment.

We also offer massage therapy. All massage therapy services are provided by North Carolina licensed massage therapists.
