IS ACUPUNCTURE COMPATIBLE WITH OTHER FORMS OF HEALTH CARE?
Traditional Chinese Medicine has the unique ability to integrate with all forms of medicine. Although classical TCM did not evolve with pharmaceutical and modern day biochemistry, it works very well in conjunction with Western medicine.
In fact, many US clinics are integrating the Eastern and Western systems of medicine to such a degree that they are creating a new form of medicine. This form of medicine, called Integrative Medicine, strives to combine the strengths of Western biochemical medicine with the ancient wisdom of disease prevention.
The patients that visit my clinic frequently integrate many different therapeutic modalities including chiropractic & osteopathic manipulations, pharmaceutical, homeopathy, midwifery, massage therapy, physical therapy and psychotherapy.
It is my foremost goal to help my patients improve their overall health, and this often takes the form of combining TCM with other modalities.HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED?
The number of treatments needed to alleviate a disorder varies depending on the type and severity of the illness and the constitution of the individual patient. In most cases there is a noticeable improvement in the patient’s condition within the first few treatments.
In general, acute diseases can be treated successfully within a few sessions. Chronic problems which have developed over many years or months will take longer to alleviate. In treating an individual, TCM addresses the person’s entire constitution. Therefore, it is common to also experience a gradual, noticeable improvement in one’s overall health as the treatments progress.IS ACUPUNCTURE COVERED BY INSURANCE?
Many major health insurance policies cover part of the expenses of acupuncture treatments. I suggest that you check with your particular insurance policy. If you are not covered please voice your concern to the company, letting them know that you have been effectively treated by a Licensed Acupuncturist.OTHER QUESTIONS?
